An audio-led 2023 conference lecture on traffic quality, landing pages and checkout friction. The recording uses a wide room view: projected dashboard and interface text is small and often unreadable in this compact copy. Follow the spoken explanation and use the exercise to map a simple journey of your own. Products and interfaces reflect 2023.

Places to begin.

A small exercise.

  1. Step 01

    Map a short journey

Draw the steps from opening a page to completing one ordinary task. Mark each field, choice and confirmation.

  2. Step 02

    Check the entry point

Write where a visitor arrives from and what they expect to see. Make the page’s first heading answer that expectation.

  3. Step 03

    Remove one obstacle

Find one redundant field or unclear instruction. Sketch a simpler version without removing information needed to complete the task.

  4. Step 04

    Define a useful measure

Choose one completion measure and one sign of difficulty. Keep a dated comparison and avoid collecting personal information you do not need.
