An edited 2024 case-study talk about developing an online store, from useful content and customer journeys to fulfilment and reporting. Four sections are retained in their original order; passages on third-party content copying and review solicitation are omitted. Exact source ranges are in the credits. Business figures are the presenter’s historical account, not an earnings forecast.
Places to begin.
A small exercise.
Step 01
A modest starting point
Choose a small real or practice shop. Write what it offers, who it serves and what a visitor needs before deciding.
Step 02
Map the journey
Sketch a route from the first useful page through product information and checkout. Mark the questions each stage should answer.
Step 03
Connect the work behind it
List the information needed to fulfil an order accurately: stock, delivery options, confirmation and a clear way to ask for help.
Step 04
Make one measurable improvement
Choose one change you can test without redesigning everything. Record the cost, the intended result and what would make you keep or undo it.
