An archive tutorial on arranging a flexible shading layer, then comparing a night scene, sunlight, and a forest setting. The software interface is from 2019; work on a copy and look for the equivalent blending and alpha controls in your version.
Places to begin.
A small exercise.
Step 01
A simple base
Make a small drawing with flat colours and save an untouched copy.
Step 02
Build one shade layer
Try the demonstrated layer arrangement on the copy. Give each layer a plain name so you can find it later.
Step 03
Three small versions
Compare a cool dim setting, a warm bright setting, and a soft green setting using the same base drawing.
Step 04
Review the values
Check which version keeps the subject easiest to read. Save a small comparison sheet alongside the editable source.
Keep a copy.
